GST Registration 

Registration under GST is required under section 22 and Section 24 of CGST Act. The GST turnover limit for regular GST registration for service providers and supplier of goods is as under-

For Service Providers- If any person or entity provides services of more than Rs.20 lakhs in aggregate turnover in a financial year is required to obtain GST registration. In special category states, the turnover limit for service providers is Rs.10 lakhs.

For Supplier of Goods- As per notification No.10/2019, if any person who is engaged exclusive in the supply of goods and whose aggregate turnover crosses Rs.40 lakhs in a year, is required to obtain GST registration.


There is following categories for which registration of GST is mandatory irrespective of turnover limit-

Documents required for GST Registration-

For proprietorship- 

  • Proof of place of business –
    1. Rent Agreement/Lease Agreement (In case of rented property), or
    2. Owned property (any document of the premises such as copy of electricity/water bill which should not be older than 2 months or Municipal Tax paid, if any)
  • Copy of PAN Card of an Individual
  • Copy of Aadhar Card of an Individual
  • Photograph 
  • Details of bank account or Cancel Cheque
  • List of Goods and Services
  • Mobile number with Email ID

 

For Partnership Firm/LLPs- 

  • Proof of place of business –
    1. Rent Agreement/Lease Agreement (In case of rented property), or
    2. Owned property (any document of the premises such as copy of electricity/water bill which should not be older than 2 months or Municipal Tax paid, if any)
  • Copy of PAN Card of all partners
  • Copy of Aadhar Card of all partners
  • Partnership Deed/ COI of LLP
  • Photograph 
  • Details of bank account of firm or Cancel Cheque
  • List of Goods and Services
  • Mobile number with Email ID
  • Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) of at least one partner in case of LLP

 

For Company- 

  • Proof of place of business –
    1. Rent Agreement/Lease Agreement (In case of rented property), or
    2. Owned property (any document of the premises such as copy of electricity/water bill which should not be older than 2 months or Municipal Tax paid, if any)
  • Pan card of a company along with copy of pan card of all directors
  • Copy of Aadhar Card of all directors
  • Board Resolution for Authorizing any Director
  • Photograph 
  • Details of bank account of a company or Cancel Cheque
  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • List of Goods and Services
  • Mobile number with Email ID
  • Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) of at least one director
